Volleyball
In volleyball many different forces act on the ball to make it move in a specific direction. The way a ball is hit, the volume, and the force applied to the ball can effect it in many different ways. Throughout the game of volleyball, the mass of the ball remains constant, but the acceleration and direction of the ball change constantly.
What other forces are acted on and used in volleyball?
Does anyone have more information to help my research?

Physics and Sports
Obviously as a coach, I'm partial to softball, but this site breaks down the physics of several sports. This would be a good start.

The velocity of a volleyball
When spiking a volleyball, a player changes the velocity of the ball from 5.1 m/s to -23.6 m/s along a certain direction. If the impulse delivered to the ball by the player is -10 kg·m/s, I hope this helps beatrice

If you change the weight of the ball does it change its velocity and what not?

Yes. If the ball weighs less it would be easier to hit the ball father. If it is heavier it would be like throwing a medicine ball.

Physics and volleyball..
Physics is involved in volleyball in every aspect of the game. For example, when the ball or a player falls to the floor, these are examples of free-fall acceleration. Earth’s gravity is pulling down at -9.80 m/s^2. Newton’s first law is also found in volleyball. Newton’s first law states that an object’s motion must remain constant unless acted upon by some unbalanced force. annnnnd (quit sending me messages saying what are you doing, dear.)
